Terms of use
The terms for using Plain Dev Tools: free use, no warranty, acceptable use and how the content and code may be reused.
Last updated 2026-11-01.
Using the site
Plain Dev Tools is free to use for personal and commercial work. By using it you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use it.
No warranty
Each tool is tested, and tools that cover only part of a format say so on the page. Even so, the tools and guides are provided as is, without warranty of any kind. Check results that matter, such as a subnet plan, a hash used for a security decision or a schedule for a production job, against the specification or your platform's own documentation before you rely on them.
Not professional advice
Guides explain standards and vendor documentation. They are not security, legal or compliance advice. Your use of any output is your responsibility.
Acceptable use
Do not overload the site with automated requests, try to break it, or use it to attack another system. We may block traffic that does.
Content and code
You may quote short passages and figures with attribution and a link. You may not copy the site wholesale and republish it. The paid offline bundle has its own license terms at checkout.
Links and third parties
Pages link to standards, documentation and, in places, to hosting and API products. We do not control those sites. Affiliate links, where active, are marked.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Plain Dev Tools and its owner are not liable for losses from use of the site or reliance on its output. Nothing here limits rights you have that cannot be limited by contract.
Changes
We may update these terms; the date on this page changes when we do. Continued use means you accept the current version. Questions go through the contact page.
